Jewett Street School Site Director

The Jewett Street School-Based Site Director leads our state-licensed after-school program within an assigned elementary school. This role is responsible for the direct leadership, management, and oversight of the program and staff, ensuring high-quality, age-appropriate programming while collaborating closely with school administration to coordinate space and resources.
This is a full-time benefit-eligible position, Monday - Friday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Program Leadership & Development
- Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of an after-school program that maximizes resources, meets organizational goals, and aligns with the Boys & Girls Club Youth Development approach while ensuring member health and safety.
- Provide direct service to members as needed and support licensed school-based extensions.
- Oversee compliance with state licensing requirements, including assisting with applications and maintaining ongoing program standards.
- Track and report outcomes related to member progress, including academic performance, attendance, grade advancement, and engagement in physical activities.
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment where members actively participate, feel supported, and receive recognition for their efforts.
- Administer a member behavior management system, ensuring staff documentation and coordination with the Director of Behavioral & Family Services for referrals as needed.
Staff Supervision & Development
- Participate in recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating lead teachers and support staff.
- Supervise staff performance to ensure adherence to training standards and licensing requirements.
- Develop schedules and provide guidance to staff to support program objectives and operations.
General Duties
- Meet with parents as needed to address concerns or provide program updates.
- Serve as a positive role model for members to inspire them to reach their full potential.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational goals.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development, Education, or related field preferred. Experience may substitute for education.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of direct youth service experience.
- Must meet New Hampshire state licensing standards for school-age program directors.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Minimum age of 21.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Must obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills; ability to work with youth, parents, staff, and school administration.
- Ability to mentor and support staff development.
- Calm, professional demeanor in high-stress or conflict situations. Flexible availability to cover Club hours, school-based programs, and summer or vacation camp schedules.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Respond quickly to emergencies to ensure member safety.
- Maintain energy and focus during extended shifts in high-energy environments.
- Lift and carry supplies or equipment up to 25–50 lbs.
- Perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing stairs.
- Operate office equipment including phones, copiers, and computers.
